Before China, We Went Tropical

Windsurfing on Lac Bay, Bonaire
The only sand on the island is in this large shallow bay where the depth is only 3ft to 4ft.
This made windsurfing a "breeze".

Bonaire is basically a coral island with no sandy beaches .
The shoreline is composed of hard coral so rubber soled
booties are a must..................................

The big leap!

Visibility- 100ft Temp-80 degrees

Big purple sponges, huge brain corals, lots of marine life

Shore diving in paradise!

Fifty miles off the coast of Venezuela is a tiny, desert island called Bonaire. This island is essentially a scuba diver's paradise with the coral reef within 50 ft from the shore. We rented a pick-up and some scuba gear, tossed a few tanks in the back and went shore diving. After gearing up, we walked into the caribbean sea, swam out a bit and descended onto some sweet coral formations. We did 13 dives including one awesome wreck and a couple eerie night dives.
We also tried windsurfing on a baby blue, sandy bottomed bay with a ripping wind. Dave took a lesson and spent a day tacking and jibing...he's so AWESOME!!
